Yes, serene and quiet... I would agree. Sad? no. I would add contemplative, though.

I like when it's actually christmas time and it makes sense that I'm listening to this, not like all the rest of the year where I keep playing it on repeat and yet it's spring and perfectly sunny outside.

As nice as the vocal version sounds, I much prefer this version. The piano cradles me in its warmth.

Sad? No this isn't sad. This is magical. This song embodies the winter season. It's gorgeous, it's peaceful. I liken it to silent night. Anyone here think silent night is "sad" sounding? Nope.

Whenever I'm feeling down I put this song on my iPod and sad walk around the house. It's incredibly cathartic. God bless Vince Guaraldi and God bless Arrested Development.

How serene. Meaning marked by or suggestive of utter calm and unruffled repose or quietude. Quite a bit different than sad which is affected with or expressive of grief or unhappiness. I would even go so far as to say that this music is warm, cuddly and full of a quiet assurance of happiness and fulfilment. I'm drinking the cocoa.

How amusing and true, ssiegel. This IS a terribly sad track, instrumental and vocal both. It's strangely heartbreaking. I was going to say that, though I love it, this track is one example of very sad Christmas songs, and really there are many. Perhaps one of the reasons why Christmas is so sad for some people is just how many truly sad Christmas songs there are.

This is the saddest song I have ever heard. I imagine from the title that it's not supposed to be sad, but it makes me disconsolate, especially the instrumental version.
