Four friends got together in Lacon, Illinois to play music one night in September, 2010… This is what rose from the ashes of the destructive forces of their musical stylings. View From the Mothership started as many bands do, Originally Bryson Wigand(drums) and Mike Shoepke(bass) would jam together, until one day Chris Mahnesmith(guitar and Cory Giles(vocals) would join along… and the planets aligned and the mighty Thor struck the floor of drummer Bryson Wigand’s basement and said “this is good stuff, doods.”

Originally named “Area”, they decided to go with something a little different and change it to “Aria”. They soon found that there were hundreds of bands and pages on Facebook named “Aria” so they soon went to work thinking of a new name. They decided on “View From the Mothership” after a couple days of deliberation…

Eventually View from the Mothership would find an additional member to aid in a second guitar, which indefinitely filled the void and completed the new mecha rock robot monster that is View From the Mothership. The newest member of View from the mothership would be Stuart Johnson a very talented guitarist who brings a solid front to the new sound of the mothership.
