Victoria Karlsson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1977. Soon after finishing school, she moved to London.
Here she studied art and design at Central St Martins, where she got interested in and started making sound art and music.
An interest in sounds and their emotional qualities led her to explore a territory somewhere between sound and music, and she started composing for live art, performance and theatre.
Often using ‘found’ sounds, sometimes manipulated and treated she explores our emotional connection to sound and music and how unexpected emotions, memories and responses can be accessed through familiar yet displaced sounds.
