From Comin' Home

Vic Sadot’s Planète Folle Band interprets “Rêve de Soulard” (The Dream of the Drunk), a traditional Cajun waltz done by many bands in southwestern Louisiana. The man arrives home to find that his wife has left him while he was out drinking. As the song rolls along he begs her to return and he pledges to change. Vic Sadot released this song on Disc Makers CD/cassette package in 1997 under the title of “Comin’ Home”. It remains available for electronic downloads at CD Baby.

Planète Folle credits for Rêve de Soulard: Vic Sadot is on vocals and acoustic guitar; Michael Salzburg on violin; Michael “Mamou” Reynolds on the piano accordion; Joe Yakaneck on the saxophone; Dave Sumner on electric guitar; Sam Chic on electric bass, and Chris Sherlock on the drums. The song was recorded by Marc Moss of Target Recording Studio in Elkton, Maryland in those times. Four stellar musicians each take their turn doing a lead instrumental in the course of this passionate and strident Cajun waltz.
