Biography

Taking its name from the works of 19th century author Jules Verne, Vernian Process is a steampunk band that creates music themed around Victorian scientific romance and its modern counterpart steampunk. Pfeiffer began working on music under the name Vernian Process in the winter of 2003. He released a number of homemade downloadable albums over the next 4 years before being approached by Irigoyen about joining the project to work on Behold the Machine. From that point forward, Vernian Process evolved beyond a solo project.

Throughout 2009, as work on the album progressed, Vernian Process sought out additional members in order to play shows to support the upcoming release of Behold the Machine, as well as record new material for future albums. Zarate joined in 2009, followed by Fargo, Figueroa, and Thomas in the latter half of 2009 and early 2010. They also feature Erica “Unwoman” Mulkey on most of their live performances. In early 2011 Free Fargo left the project, and a few short months later drummer Eugene Dryer III joined in his place.

Behold the Machine was released on October 1, 2010.

Vernian Process’ musical influences range from Post-Punk/New Wave, Prog-Rock, Classic Industrial, Darkwave, Deathrock, Trip-Hop, Dreampop, Cabaret, Neo-Classical (and many more) filtered through a dimly lit Victorian lens. At times, epic, militant, and mechanical. While equally pastoral, serene, uplifting and positive when it chooses to be.

Same group who did the Sonic orchestration album? Because that album is AWESOME. And has nothing to do with steampunk.

Also, in regards to my vocals on our previous releases. I'll be the first to tell you, I hate my own vocals back then. But I've been practicing and honing my singing voice for the past 3 or 4 years, so please don't write us off just yet. You can hear that practice in our newest single (linked below) and even on our 2010 single "Something Wicked (That Way Went)"

bqad2: I have never heard of music being "pointless" before. Music is art and we either like it or dislike it; if you happen to dislike something it does not make it pointless. Where on earth did you get the idea that liking a certain band/genre of music makes you "elite"? No offence, but I think that says more about you than anything else.

I have to say... I just discovered the Vernian Process, and even this genre of music SteamPunk & it is amazing. However... they 'are' genuinely exceptional group!

bqad2: Obvious troll is obvious! I see her hatting on all sorts of good music, must suck to be so bored with your life, at least she is getting some sort of attention right?

Says the girl with scene hair, snake bites and favorite music genre is nu-metal. bqad2 youre hardly an authority to judge on what is pointless or elite. [4]

This band is kinda "The Emperor's New Clothes". Everyone is afraid to confess that he or she can't understand such a pointless music and becomes it's fan just to show that he or she is an "elite". What a shame.

I gotta be honest I liked the non-vocal stuff better. Whoever you got singing does not seem to match harmony with the music at all! It's kinda like he's singing words to another song instead!
