This album contains some of the best old-skool rap songs ever. Unlike most of the other Best… Album in the World… Ever! cd’s released they only made one Best Rap Album and didn’t carry on to volume 2… etc.

Later on they did introduce similar albums such as the best hip-hop anthems in the world… ever! and the best r&b, the hip-hop album probably is the closest to a volume 2, where as the r&b one contains more of the soulful r&b/rap mix instead of the more hardcore Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash classic rap style.
