About this album

Earwax Radio 10 tracks (35:53)
Presented and produced by Andy Pettman & Jamie Izzard, Earwax Radio is a fortnightly magazine radio show which takes a peek at the new music scene. Containing exclusive interviews and live sessions, it packages up the freshest sounds of the UK for a global audience. With over 3,000 subscribers including listeners in the USA, Russia, Japan & Brazil, Earwax brings underground sounds to The World from it’s Time Zone (S.E.London).

Previous guests include Dirty Pretty Things, Supergrass, Athlete, Carter USM & The Bluetones. Earwax excels in giving an outlet to buzzy unsigned talent. Subliminal Girls, The Telegraphs, Luxembourg, William and Officer Kicks are a few bands who have been played on Radio 1, XFM and BBC 6Music after being featured. “Rocklands even has its own semi-official podcasting radio station, Earwax, which performs all the rabble-rousing, word-spreading, tune-disseminating duties you’d
have wanted from pirate radio once upon a time”.
(Time Out Magazine)

The earwaxradio sessions are an excuse to get some of our favourite Bands & Artists to play stripped down versions of their songs which we then use on the earwax show. Here are ten of our favourites from the last 12 months.

1.Telegraphs – So Cold
Brighton band Telegraphs are currently working on their debut album with producer Dave Eringa, we managed to drag them down to the Deptford Arms on a Monday night to record this acoustic version of their live favourite.

Here are ten of our favourites from the last 12 months. 1.Telegraphs – So Cold Brighton band Telegraphs are currently working on their debut album with producer Dave Eringa, we managed to drag them down to the Deptford Arms on a Monday night to record this acoustic version of their live favourite. http://www.last.fm/music/Telegraphs 2.Ceri James – Agree To Disagree South London resident Ceri James releases his debut album in July 2008 on Mile High Music. This track was recorded at the Deptford Arms as part of The Artful 07 festival. http://www.last.fm/music/Ceri+James 3.Mr Bligh – Lewishambles The Darling Reds front man recorded this version of his Rockland’s anthem at the Deptford Arms. http://www.last.fm/music/Mr+Bligh 4.Guardians Of The Ancient Wisdom – Outsiders Our favourite West London Hip-Hop group came down to the Deptford Arms complete with Spielberg samples. http://www.last.fm/music/Guardians+of+the+Ancient+Wisdom 5.Superman Revenge Squad – Idiot Food Our favourite Croydon songwriter came down to the New Cross Inn and performed his God Is In The TV single. http://www.last.fm/music/Superman+Revenge+Squad 6.Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring – A Question Of Trust There is something very special about this band in a just world they would be bigger than coldplay. It was Christmas time at the New Cross Inn they serenaded us with carols and this gem. http://www.last.fm/music/Their+Hearts+Were+Full+Of+Spring 7.Officer Kicks – Pictures of Me These South Londoners are building up a large following due to their energetic live shows, we talked them into playing a session at the New Cross Inn for us. Catch them at Glastonbury & Bestival. http://www.last.fm/music/Officer+Kicks 8.Nebraska – The Replacements – The boys from Blackheath recorded one of our favourite ever sessions at the New Cross Inn, this is their tribute to The Replacements. http://www.last.fm/music/Nebraska+%5BUK%5D 9.Heath – Nija – The furthest someone has ever travelled for an Earwax Session must be LA resident Heath, who played a rowdy set at the New Cross Inn for us. http://www.last.fm/music/Heath%21 10.Responsible Adults – 70s 80s Hot Ladies – Is it Hip Hop? Poetry or Spoken Word? Who knows but its fun! Recorded at the Deptford Arms for the Artful Festival. http://www.last.fm/music/Responsible+Adults
