Heroes & Thieves

“Heroes & Thieves” is singer-songwriter-pianist Vanessa Carlton’s third and only album to be released under label The Inc in October 2007. Carlton starting working on the album some time in 2005 after leaving her former label A&M due to lack of promotion of her second album, “Harmonium”. The album features lyrical contributions from Vanessa herself as well as Linda Perry, Stephen Jenkins and a feature with Stevie Nicks on the track “The One”. The album is also the first to feature an obvious vocal maturity from Carlton who often resorted to the use of multiple falsetto notes in some of the songs. The first single released from the album was “Nolita Fairytale” in mid 2007 with “Hands On Me” following in early 2008.
