I like the sound of this. I had a feeling it was Irish folk-influenced.

does parts of the melody remind anybody of some christmas song or church hymn? I don't know what because I haven't been celebrating christmas/going to church for a long time, but it's evoking some part of my childhood.

It's their 'Giving up the Gun' Modern Vampires song and it cannot be better.

Well Koenig acknowledges his strong ties to Irish culture on his old blog, makes total sense.

Definitely get AC vibes with this in the same way I got AC vibes with California English. And I mean that in the best way! <3 AC and <3 this song. It's definitely got a distinct Vampire Weekend style all the same.

fortunately doesnt turn out to be an annoying ADD-kid of a song like most of the AC-stuff <---- totally agree with you.

The verses sound very much like Animal Collective in terms of tempo and accentuation, but it fortunately doesnt turn out to be an annoying ADD-kid of a song like most of the AC-stuff.
