About This Track
Diplomat’s Son is the ninth track on the second album from Vampire Weekend, Contra. The song is about a love affair between the narrator, and the son of a diplomat.This song was written by Rostam Batmanglij. The intro samples a song called “Hustle” by rapper M.I.A. This is Vampire Weekend’s first use of a sample on a record release.
