"This or Yeezus for AOTY 2013?" Objectively, this. Subjectively, Yeezus because I played the shit out of it (and I played MVOTC a lot).

This album failed to hold my attention. With the exception of Step, I found most other songs mediocre.

Incredible. Bit of a darker tone than the last two, it's not as "funny". I don't know how to explain it. A lot of songs about growing up, spirituality and religion, etc.

@MilesFox: Seriously? Reflektor is the most boring thing Arcade Fire's ever done. And I usually like them.

    Far superior to Contra.

Overrated. I thought this was the album of 2013? Even after the third round it was soft college-rock for me. Not as intense as "Reflector" of Arcade Fire for example. It's just...boring.

Honestly the only thing I don't love about this album is the cursive font on the cover. It's always a big design taboo to mix two different types of fonts, and it marks what is an otherwise beautiful and poignant photo. Why not just write 'Vampire Weekend' in the traditional font and be done with it? The album can still have a title, nobody is going to get confused.

there is always the fear of a group you love crafting an album that's less than desirable and then having to defend your affection for that groups music.... this is not the case with Vampire Weekends magnificent release of 2013.... they have taken all the elements that made them a wonderful group, strengthen and increased those elements and created Modern Vampires of the City... thank you boys for this gift of music
