—-

“…one of the most open-eared talents in that no man’s land between experimental and potentially market-gratifying music”
-Touching Extremes

“The strength of Ekvílibríum is in the organic way Sigurdsson weds the electronic to the human… The result is a singular album, as ornate as it is direct.”
-The Fader Magazine

“…almost collapses under the power of its own trembling beauty… Valgeir Sigurðsson delivers his bonded masterpiece… prepare to be dazzled.”
-God’s In The TV

The Icelandic trio Pondus consisting drums, bass and guitars, play an absolute chanting minimalistic pop mixture with elements of dub and jazz. Having played with such diverse artists as Kylie Minogue, Sigur Ros, Morten Harket and written songs to Marc Almond this is the debut release to Petur Hallgrimsson and his new trio. The music is instrumental, suggestive and without comparison. Call it film noir or “tubular bells” blended with some smooth dub bass and dreamy guitars. We call these tunes sublime exile recordings ! - The album is recorded in Reykjavik by Björk collaborator Valgeir Sigurdsson. Check it out: http://www.last.fm/music/PONDUS/Sandur
