Vains of Jenna is a sleaze rock band that was formed in Falkenberg, Sweden in early 2005. In April 2006, the band relocated to Hollywood, California. They recorded a three song self-titled demo in January ‘05 as well as a fourth track in April ‘05. The band received major interest worldwide, including being asked to play at Cruefest ‘05 at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go.
The band recorded “Baby’s Got A Secret,” a four song EP which included a cover of The Rolling Stones “Jumping Jack Flash,” in October ‘05 with Gilby Clarke handling production. The band has recently come under the management of Stevie Rachelle, former vocalist of glam metal band Tuff. Under Rachelle’s management, the band has recently been signed to Bam Margera’s newly founded record label, Filthy Note.
With Bam Margera they filmed the video to the singles, “No Ones Gonna Do It For You”. They filmed it in Westchester, PA at Bam’s house. They then went on to complete a wildly successful US tour with Poison and RATT in the summer of 2007, and have gone on smaller tours and played local shows since then.
The band pins themselves as “a cross between Hanoi Rocks and Guns N’ Roses (Appetite For Destruction era).” Their sound is influenced mostly by classic rock acts like L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat, with some more modern influences like Backyard Babies and Buckcherry thrown in. Aerosmith is another huge influence on the band.
