Vadim Taver is an especially interesting fellow. He has been in numerous musical projects, and all of them are varied and each are very special. The first band of note he took part in was A Life Once Lost, which played an amalgamation of metal and grind, but after a short period of time, he left to join This Day Forward, his most notable accomplishment to date, musically, writing lyrics and playing guitar with the band. While in This Day Forward, Vadim somehow found time to play in an acoustic project, Superstitions of the Sky, alongside Josh Jakubowski of Hot Cross/Neil Perry fame. While SOTS is completely different than the metalcore based This Day Forward, it nontheless depicted Vadim in his element, weaving deeply emotional lyrics with stirring guitars. In 2003, This Day Forward broke up, after 3 LPs and one EP, and for a short time, Vadim dedicated himself to SOTS, but in the meantime, was writing huge amounts of material for a project he had brainstormed for what seemed to me for quite awhile. The outcome was Marigold, a dark and deeply brooding melodic hardcore band. Much of the roots of this band are based in some of This Day Forward’s later material, with a large post-hardcore aesthetic. As of now, Marigold has released a full length entitled “Audible to Animals”, out on Textbook Music, along with a 3 song self released demo.

Vadim is an extremely and dedicated man, and definitely look for him in the future, not only with Marigold, but also with various other projects.
