Biography

V.S.O.P. (The Quintet) was a Jazz Fusion supergroup formed by former members of the Miles Davis Quintet: Herbie Hancock (piano), Wayne Shorter (sax), Ron Carter (bass), Tony Williams (drums) as well as Freddie Hubbard (trumpet).

VSOP is also a rap group started in 1998. Rapper Tim meets ODM and after they meet they hook up with another rapper CC. After a short period Grimlock & mike Tibbert join the group. In 1998 they released their first demo-cd, which was in English. After this demo-cd DJ’s Remco & MP joined the group aswell. After some tours they signed with the dutch label TopNotch and released their second CD called “Huiswerk” in 2004. Their first was called “Spelenderwijs”, which was released in 2002.

And there is another group called VSOP from Hungary. They are a Hungarian hip-hop band, started in 1998. Their first album came out in 1999, called Csak a pénz… (Only the money…). The next one was released in 2000 called K2-A kiadatlan album (D2-The unreleased album). Then they seemed to disappear for a while, but in 2008 they came back with their new album, Mindig friss kell (Always a new one).

    I think the group which is more listened to should be listed first. A better option would be Last.fm implementing a better option for artists with the same name

    Wayne Shorter is more talented and musically/historically important than all of these guys combined. Same goes fro Herbie, Ron, Tony and Freddie.
