Uut Permatasari (born Utami Suryaningsih on 7 April 1982 in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia) is a dangdut singer and presenter, who is famous for “ngecor” dance move, that is swaying by lifting one leg while spinning like going to stick the feet to the ground.

Since childhood, Uut has always liked to sing and often won district competitions. Not just entirely into singing, Uut also diligently practiced ballet and traditional dance, such as Yapong. Thus, making her body very flexible when singing and swaying.

Uut moved to Jakarta in 2003 to develop her career. She rose to fame with her song “[track artist=uut permatasari]Putri Panggung” (English: Stage Princess). It was the theme song for a short drama, Laris Manis, on SCTV.

Uut had performed not only in Indonesia, but also in the neighbor countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong and Korea.

In 2007, she was accused of plagiarising song from Matta Band. Fortunately, before Ray, the songwriter of the song, make efforts on the copyright law, Uut’s management company and label had settled her rights. However, this case undoubtedly leave some resentment because Matta Band is considered as a dangdut band.
