• Sat 3 Mar - Dubstep A Go-Go, De Kikker, Utrecht

Original line-up: Benga, Goldfinger, Osiris, Plastician, M.R.K.1, Bojcot Selectah. However, Benga had to cancel and they got DJ Chef instead.

The soundsystem of the place and the acoustics were simply awesome. As the beats were being picked by the DJ, you could not stand still because the waves of music would move you and everything around you. The bass was fuckin' pumping!

The MC's did a great job. I was pleasantly surprised with MC Chakra from Utreg Massive. He sounds good on dubstep/grime.

As I said, the sound was intensive and the bass was loud. Agressive snares helped the dancing people keep their rhythm. DJ Chef really has good DJ skills and picked the right records at the right moments. The same can be said for Plastician even though he tended to spin more conventional grime than DJ Chef.

Overall it was a good night. 12 euro's was a bit much though.

    Drop 5.0

Another night of Drop. One of the regular drum 'n bass evenings in Utrecht, known for the progressive style and the darkness of the styles. Among the DJ's that played at Drop before are The Panacea, Noisia, DJ Hidden and more.

Since it was the birthday of one of the organizers, the entrance was free, but the party only lasted until 3. I personally walked in during TC - Rockstar, one of my favourite tunes at the moment. Druid from Utreg Massive was spinning.

As the night progressed, we all ventured further down into the louder sounds. Lucy Furr rocked a pretty good set and got into the tougher breakcore and drum 'n bass... then there was hardcore. And a lot of it. Eskalation, Ozymandias, Vageman and the rest did their best to tear down the place.

    They did quite well.

    Happy birthday.
