He is Aleksi Perälä. He likes dreaming and making music. He was born in Suomi, Finland 1976. Started playing piano in 1983. Bought his 1st syntheziser in 1988 and started making his own music. His first LP on Rephlex in 1999.
AS1, a.k.a Arnold Steiner, worked as graphic designer in New York from 1996 to 2005, doing work for labels such as Planet Mu, Schematic, Rawkus, Breakbeat Science, Laboratory Instinct, Fuel, Monotone, Imputor and many more.
Drexciya were a mysterious electro unit from Detroit, Michigan. The late James Stinson was the only officially identified member of Drexciya, but it was considered an open secret that he had a partner, Gerald Donald.
Arpanet is one of the pseudonyms of Dopplereffekt's Gerald Donald. It was named after both ARPANET (one of the precursors to the internet) and ARP Instruments, an early synthesizer company. Initially a suspected duo between Drexciya-frontmen James Stinson and Gerald Donald, since Stinson's death in 2002, Arpanet is now firmly established as Gerald Donald alone.
DMX Krew is the recording name of Ed Upton. He has released 6 full albums on Aphex Twin's label Rephlex Records, one full album on Legowelt's Strange Life Records, and numerous singles/EP's for both Rephlex, his own Breakin Records, and various other.
"Based in Flint, Michigan, USA, the four young sons of an electrician, known simply as the elecktroids, have welded together their debut album." (discogs.com) These "four sons" are shrouded in mystery, but most guesses tend to point towards members of Drexciya (James Stinson and Gerald Donald) and Ultradyne (Alex Lugo and Dennis Richardson).
