John Sellekaers was born in 1973 in Montreal, later moved to Brussels. Around 1988, under the influence of electronic music pioneers such as Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream, he began experimenting with synthesizers. At the same time, he starts a magazine devoted to electronic music, and writes for it.
In 1994, he makes a contract with [label label and in 1995 his first album Maps of the Impossible comes out, under the name of Xingu Hill.
During the last ten years, John has released about forty records on various labels (such as Hushush, Ant-Zen, Hymen, Foton, Delikatessen, Mirex, Re-Load Ambient, and Nova Zembla).
Sellekaers has also recorded under names such as Dead Hollywood Stars, Ambre, Urawa, Uncotones, moonsanto and Ammo. Xingu Hill always stayed the most famous of them.
