16 Oct 2006, 20:38 by furfangosI rarely get upset over bad music nowadays. It's probably because I'm getting old and soon will die, dear Ndugu. However, Charlie Persson, made me more furious than I've been for a really long time. It was kinda refreshing of course.
It all started with a single review on dagensskiva.com written by Agnes Arpi. You'll find it here: http://www.dagensskiva.com/index.asp?datum=2006-10-16&sokt=Charlie
I thought a mixture of ska-pop, James Carr and Håkan Hellström would be at least interesting. I suppose Agnes Arpi is way out. Charlie Persson bear no resemblence to any of them. Arpi set me up.
Instead, what I found, was some kind of Tomas Ledin with a beard. If you haven't heard Tomas Ledin, consider yourself blessed by a mightier power than Fredrik Reinfeldt or even God.
What Sweden need is not another Tomas Ledin. We didn't fucking want him the first way. I wasn't even born when he started making himself a name with his annoying god-bless-the-summer-pop whic since then has been…
24 Sep 2006, 21:19 by krazykiwiI left itunes on party shuffle, with a playlist consisting of "songs I have never played, that aren't childrens songs or christmas songs, or bruce springsteen, or rated 1, or on another hard drive" (The Bruce Springsteen is because I can't stand him, and I have like 15 albums worth ripped on here for he of no taste, the other half) The 'not on another hard drive' is because this is my laptop, and it doesn't have that much space on, but I don't have my main machine running right now. So what's on here is a mix of about half/half "stuff I just got" and "stuff I cannot live without". Obviously the latter is mostly played to death, so this playlist hits most of the rest, that I never really get around to listening to because I'm busy playing the stuff I actually adore.
The result is pretty random, after a week of it, yet, oddly not as jarring as it would seem at first glance. Definitely a weird mix though.
15 Jan 2006, 23:36 by urbanizedSince I haven't written anything at all here before, I make a boring debut by naming favourite artists for every letter. I'll try to use my Last.fm list as far as possible...
A: Quite hard. I don't want to say Aerosmith, I'd prefer saying AC/DC.
B: The Beatles
C: Since Cannibal! The Musical isn't really an artist, I'll go for Clawfinger. Creedence Clearwater Revival and Joe Cocker are both close, so close.
D: Dia Psalma or Dr Hook. I'll go with the first.
E: Ebba Grön
F: Foo Fighters
G: Really hard. I have no other choice than picking Guns N' Roses.
H: The Hives, The Hellacopters or David Hasselhoff... The Hives.
I: Iron Maiden
J: Elton John
K: Kent (Though I want to mention Kung Kodum too.)
L: Peter LeMarc or Led Zeppelin.
N: Veronika Nielsen (You can stop searching the Internet for her music. She's a friend of mine and she hasn't got a label.)
O: The Offspring
S: System of a Down
T: Timbuktu, Tina Turner, They Might Be Giants or Thåström... I say Tenacious D.
