Peterborough, Ontario’s Union City released their first single “These Days” in North America on April 6th 2010 via Tinderbox Music and immediately received widespread airplay through American and Canadian college radio, cracking the top 100 in the American college radio (CMJ) charts.
Due to the success of the single in the North American college charts, and a successful American mini-tour to support it, the band signed a licensing deal with MTV, E!TV and Oxygen Networks in the United States in July 2010, to have “These Days”, “The War”, and “The Girl Who Wasn’t There” played on US TV shows like The City (The Hills spinoff), Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Spindustry, The Bad Girls Club, The Spindustry, as well as new sketch comedy show “Warren the Ape”, among others.
They have been invited to play Canadian Music Week 2011 in Toronto as well as perform in Austin during SXSW 2011.
Union City is currently writing and recording more material for a follow-up release, preparing for another American tour, and is hoping to make 2011 their year
