Biography

Uneek is a bilingual group based in NYC & Tel-Aviv, mixing Spanish & English lyrics on Reggaeton, Hip-Hop & UK Garage tunes, collaborating with international artists, keeping their material fresh and unique, staying true to the group’s name.

In 2000 Maximum Education (Max Schroeter) formed A2R, a Hip Hop and UK Garage group together with Sagi Dahan (currently in a group called Saga) . The group was bilingual, with most of the tracks being split between Hebrew and English on their first album called “Take A Risk”. The group also helped produce “Kol Harechov” together with Mad Man Urbanx owner Geula Adhenani.

In 2002, Max teamed up with …Willito (Willy Marcillo-Velastegui), an Ecuadorian Reggateon/Hip Hop artist who mainly performed and recorded in his native Spanish. The two built 3 home recordings studios, composed their instrumentals and initially started the self-made label U-Neek Records, which later became Uneek Media.

The group A2R transformed into Uneek (Sagi Dahan had left the group at that stage). The group went through many changes with artists coming and going, as in 2004 the band expanded from a duo to a 6-piece group, but in 2007 due to various circumstances, Max & Willy decided to continue the group alone as a duo.

Uneek continued the bilingual style mixing Spanish & English lyrics on Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, Dancehall & UK Garage tunes like “Bounce” and “Otro Dia Mas”, collaborating with international artists like NRG Vibes, Clkwrk, Spontain, LeFirst, Liquit Walker, Shlomit Stroh and more to keep the material fresh and unique, staying true to the group’s name.

Currently the group is working on up and coming singles and video clips that should be released towards the 3rd & 4th quarters of 2011…

Expect to see and hear quite a lot from these guys!
