they're really not on the same level they once were though are they? It's not got that aura surrounding it . But they should be able to do as they wish in my opinion, they've earnt the right to do a few not great albums...
Yeah! Shame on Underworld for daring to write different kinds of music! Shame on them for not re-releasing Cowgirl and Born Slippy.Nuxx over and over! Shame on them for writing a catchy song that is more reminiscent of the current house scene than what the scene sounded like in 1999! Let's burn them at the stake! Let's write in and request they only play Dubnobasswithmyheadman at their shows!
Heave to agree with friday55 and blueskin69 at first it's not bad, but it is a complete (and bad) Deadmau5 rip and has nothing to do with older Underworld tracks. That does not make it a completely bad song, it's just not what I'm looking for, while the older Underworld albums are.
It's like a spoonful of sugar. I loved everything about it at first, right down to the Deadmau5 chug, but now Karl's "Hea-uh-van hea-uh-van" is grating just a little bit, although that's redeemed by the verse with lyrics like you quote, electrophile888. I guess I now consider it to be good rather than brilliant.
I think it has some nice moments, such as Karl's vocals at the start of the song, that have been a feature of 'classic' Underworld tracks. However, whilst I like the song, it is not in the same league as stuff like Cowgirl, Pearl's Girl, Rez etc.
