Uncle Owen Aunt Beru is the experimental/ambient/folk project of Jessica Calleiro, who “makes music like journal entries.” She claims to never practice or remember her songs, which gives them their unrefined, spur-of-the-moment air. She derives inspiration from the Hebrew language and the country of Israel, as well as musicians such as David Bowie, Tangerine Dream, Vashti Bunyan, Philip Glass, King Crimson, and Dave McKean. She is also a part of the musically similar duo Gwendolyn & Lady Lavender, and plays with Savannah, GA band Unsolved Mysteries.
