I know that this album is reviewed as a masterpiece but for me the sax ruins the whole thing. I really hate saxophones.

This album didn't really open up for me like 'Shadows of the Sun' did, but after repeated listenings of this album, 'Perdition City' maybe a bit better album than SotS.

Disappointingly dull (with the except of Lost in Moments). Rather listen to Bohren's Sunset Mission.

Astounding shift from previous albums. I really did not expect this after Nattens. Their discography is getting a little wild. I find it very impressing how masterfully they've crafted two near opposite atmospheres on Kveldssanger and this. This feels like an urban trip, Kveldssanger feels like a hymn to dark forests and whatever lurks beyond the treeline. Definitely continuing with their discography.

Even though I can sometimes criticize Ulver's discography, I think that "Perdition City" is probably in my top 3 favourite albums ever. Incredible atmosphere.
