Biography
Ulama are a two piece electro/dubstep group from West Yorkshire/Newcastle, England and was formed in early 2012 by Sam Roberts and Michael Karkoszka. Both Sam and Michael share a passion for creating and producing various genres of music which is aided by their varied musical backgrounds. Sam has predominantly grown up with trance/house whereas Michael's influences are mostly rock/blues however both members found they shared a similar interest in electro/DNB/dubstep which has been influenced by the likes of Rusko, Pendulum, Wolfgang Gartner, Skrillex and Deadmau5.
From the day Ulama was first launched it has seen a rapid increase of followers on its Twitter page, reaching over 1,000 in less than 2 weeks. The immediate responses have shown a great affinity for their debut track entitled "Effila" – which is a blend of dubstep, electro and reggae.
This recent surge of followers, coupled with numerous messages of appreciation for Effila has resulted in both Sam and Michael setting to work on several new tracks and with a vision to complete their first EP (Effila EP), which is scheduled to be finished by the coming summer. The title track Effila is currently available to stream on soundcloud.com, Youtube.com & Last.Fm and is available to download on iTunes NOW! soon to be on AmazonMp3 & spotify.
