Numb, a monotone spoken lyric by Edge, with Bono providing backing vocals is the third track on the U2 album “Zooropa” and the first single released from that album. It has influences of industrial rock. It explores themes of sensory overload - a noisy backing track with the Edge providing a list of “Don’t”. It was released as a video single - an unusual format at that time.
