An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart is still one of the best song(s) that U2 ever made. And I still think this is their best album, although The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree and No Line on the Horizon come pretty close.

bought this at rose records downtown chicago when it came out(heard a cut on wxrt) -still have it-this is and will be my favorite U2 album-totally fresh(for the time)-i stll love it-for me an cat dubh to into the heart still knocks me out-by the way- saw U2 supporting the unforgettable fire album-unreal show

Fantastic debut here, one of my all-time favorite album. In many ways, this album shaped the passion and feeling for lots bands to come. It also contains very interesting lyrics, imagery and of course, great music. The beginning of something really big but still, not their best but quite close if you ask me. 9.8/10.

“Boy” pode ser considerado um dos álbuns mais importantes dos anos oitenta e possivelmente um dos melhores do grupo. Muito bem produzido por Steve Lillywhite, o álbum trás novas sonoridades derivadas de influências do punk, misturadas com guitarras super processadas e vocais apaixonados. Pra quem conheceu U2 tempos depois, é muito legal ouvir o frescor do grupo livre de posicionamentos políticos e das baladas obrigatórias, e acima de tudo com muita vontade de inovar com arranjos mais complexos do que até dos álbuns sequentes. “I Will Follow” foi o single hit que garantiu as turnês intercontinentais que expuseram o U2 da Irlanda para o mundo, outras faixas como “Twilight”, “Into The Heart” e “Stories For Boys” marcaram o coração de uma grande parte da juventude da época que se mantém fieis apaixonados até os dias de hoje.
