There are at least three artists using the alias “Type”.
1. Type is a Seattle, Washington Hip-Hop artist. He performs a mix of comedy/rap and has been involved in the Hip-Hop scene since about 2004. Type is closely associated with Grieves, the two MC’s also form the group Illegitimate Children. Type also has another side project with another Seattle artist Kublakai, The Let Go.
2. Type (Zé Nando Pimenta)
Zé Nando Pimenta’s alter-ego used first in 2001 at the launch of his debut album released by Nylon. It was also that year that his music “Slow Process” appeared in a “DJ Kicks” compilation mixed by “Nightmares On Wax.” He returned with a new album in 2005 in collaboration with the poet singer Kalaf from which came the album “Kalaf + Type - A Fuga…” this one already released by Meifumado.
A blend of organic beats machined by hip-hop attitudes, samples taken from the original context, or overdubs of synthesizers programmed to make a groove out of anything.
3. Type (Vladimir Grankin)
Also using the artist alias Alongshore, Latvian Trance artist Vladimir Grankin has released four tracks under this alias so far, “Against the Waves” and “Desert Moon” on Real Legacy Records, “Mantra” on the Bonzai sublabel Green Martian, and “Salute To Summer” on Shah-Music Digital, each accompanied by a pair of remixes. There are also a couple of remixes available, including the remix of UCast - Stream.
