There are atleast two artists named Tyler Smith:
1.Tyler Smith is current vocalist for The Word Alive, an American post-hardcore band originally formed by Craig Mabbit (ex-Blessthefall vocalist and current Escape the Fate vocalist) however was asked to leave the band although it is not official it is thought that touring was quite hard with both bands wanting to tour, Tyler Smith then later replaced Craig Mabbit as lead vocalist for The Word Alive
He was originally the Clean vocalist for In Fear and Faith between 2007 & 2008. They released the Voyage EP with him as their clean vocalist.
During 2008, he was the Bassist for Greeley Estates, before joining The Word Alive in Late 2008 where he has remained since.
2. Tyler Smith is the current bass player for Medusa's Disco.
Tyler has been playing music since the age of 12 when he first picked up a guitar. He started playing with a band at the age of 13 called “No Participation”. Over the next two years the band changed members and names until Tyler (Guitar / Vox) and Anthony Lehr (Drummer) created a band that would later settle on the name “The Mayor’s Wife”. He recorded his first album “Shame” at 13. Over the next 10 years, “The Mayor’s Wife” put out 5 more albums, opened for “Marcy Playground” and “Jimmies Chicken Shack” multiple times, and released a music video for their song “Zombies”. He became involved in various other projects at this time, such as his solo CD “General Distain”.
He was also intrigued by other instruments and began teaching himself how to play drums at 16. He joined another band called “Amber in December”(AID) as a Drummer in 2006. AID broke up after a year and Tyler founded a reggae rock band called “No Comply” with Max Bauer (Guitarist / Bassist), Ian Jefferson (Vocals), and Casey McMillion (Drummer). After a year of playing several bars and releasing a 3 song EP, “No Comply” broke up. Tyler then founded another band “Shooting Pains” as a Drummer with Matt Lester from “The Spinning Game”. They went onto play several shows and release a 6 song EP called “Devolve”. After about a year “Shooting Pains” broke up and he was looking for a new project to be apart of. Tyler began to jam with Wynton and Hunter and eventually joined Medusa’s Disco as a bassist in October of 2012.
