In 1996 Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil joined director Tom Tykwer to produce the score for the film “Winter Sleepers”. In the following years the trio - now producing music unter the name Pale 3 - made several scores for Tykwers films such as “The Princess And The Warrior”, “The Perfume” or “Run, Lola, Run” with which they reached the german charts. The track Wish (Komm zu mir) which featured actress Franka Potente and rapper Thomas D was awarded with the “Goldene Schallplatte”.

Pale 3 soon got the attention of filmmakers in the United States and the Variety magazine put them on the Creatives To Watch list. The trio also contributed tracks to the soundtrack of “One Hour Photo” and “The Matrix Revolutions”.

All the members of this project have a background in the electronic music scene. Started out in Berlin where Reinhold Heil used to play in Nina Hagen Band and Johnny Klimek formed with his brother a pop band named The Other Ones.
