(2009 – present)

Two Tongues is an indie rock side project consisting of Max Bemis and Coby Linder of Say Anything, as well as Chris Conley and Dave Soloway of Saves The Day. Their self-titled debut album was released on February 3, 2009 through Vagrant Records. The 13-track album was self-produced and recorded at Electric Lady Bug studios in California.

Before forming Two Tongues, Max Bemis, Chris Conley and Coby Linder had previously collaborated on a cover song of Bob Dylan’s “The Man In Me” for the compilation album Paupers, Peasants, Princes & Kings: The Songs of Bob Dylan, released by Doghouse Records in 2006. After the successful collaboration, Bemis asked Conley about potentially doing an album together, to which Conley responded positively by saying “I would do it with no one else, nothing could be more epic!”

Thus, Two Tongues was born.

Without Saves the Day there would be no Say Anything.

It's random as hell that these guys chose to cover a Ween song. Very awesome, though.

Benis? The songs sound more Saves The Day based than anything else, they're not really that eceletic except for Back Against The Wall and Even If You Don't. Alice has a combination of the two with a sort of woe-ish sound the alarm sound to it. max just seemed to try too hard with his voice on the album which was kind of odd to hear.

It's so funny to me that they teamed up together. I always used to confuse the two bands when i wasn't that into either of them. I think they work well together though.

Chris said in an interview that he'll be sending demos and snippets to Max when Daybreak is finished. Because the album only too 6 weeks to make I'm hoping for a December release.

Bemis is a lot stronger on this album than Chris... Nice combo, though. Just took me a while to warm up to it. Any word on whether or not a second Two Tongues album is to be expected?
