In addition to the FM airwaves presence shows were archived online, with a supporting portal site carrying news, updates, links and more from the worldwide scratch/turntablist scene, and via this means the show built up a colossal worldwide following - some 40,000 listeners at its peak. By 2003 it had become the station’s most listened to show.[1]
In February 2004, Trick announced the closure of the radio show, although the site continued to act as a news portal for all that was happening worldwide. Due to massive demand however, he was convinced to resurrect Turntable Radio and in May of the same year brought Laurent Fintoni, freelance journalist and editor of the online Turntable Music Resource Spin Science, on board to handle presenting duties.
The show then aired monthly in an online-only format, streamed via RealPlayer. This format lasted for another year and a half until November 2005 when it was moved entirely to a podcast format, still presented by Laurent Fintoni who co-runs the website with Mr Trick. The public were now able to download the shows in high quality MP3 format. The regularity of the show passed from monthly to every 2-3 months, allowing Turntable Radio to represent the ongoing musical happenings of the scene best by ensuring that every show was of a high quality and featured brand new or never aired tracks from worldwide, independent and signed, artists.
