Biography
Hailing from an urban hot-spot just below the North Pole, Tromsø’s TURDUS MUSICUS have been stirring it up in the Norwegian rock-underground since 1999. The band renowned for their wild and explosive live released two critically acclaimed EP’s before debuting in a full-length format with “Here Goes!” (Intimate Records/Bonnier Amigo) in 2004. Norwegian online zine Panorama.no declared the opening track “Anymore” to be one of the best Norwegian rock songs of the year and Scandinavia’s biggest rock-zine Monster Mag promptly claimed that “Turdus Musicus has got to be Norway’s best live act ever”.
On March 8th 2007, the band released their second full length album, named “ROCKCOLLAPSE” on Intimate Records/Bonnier Amigo. “Rockcollapse” is described as a heavier, darker, faster and yet more melodic Turdus than ever before heard. Combining their tastes in different rock genres, they indulge in a shakedown of hardcore aggression, punk energy, creative vocal harmonies and anthem-ish shout-alongs. The album is produced by Tommy Hjelm (Insense, JR Ewing, Rumble In Rhodos) and mastered at Cutting Room Studios (Raised Fist, The Hives, Rammstein).
The range of influences and references used to describe their sound is wide, from alternative rock icons Helmet, to hardcore-pioneers Refused, to NYHC-kings Sick Of It All, to indie-innovators At The Drive-in, and the list goes on… But no reference really apply. Go fetch a copy of their new album “ROCKCOLLAPSE” to get a sense of what the fuzz is all about.
