Biography

Trumans Water is an indie rock band that formed in 1991 in San Diego, California. Their current lineup consists of Kirk and Kevin Branstetter (guitars/vocals/etc), Mike Coumatos (bass/vocals), and John Schier (drums). Throughout their career, they have combined avant-garde influences from music such as Sun City Girls, Captain Beefheart, and free jazz with a Sonic Youth/Boredoms-esque indie/punk/noise rock sensibility to create consistently unusual and uncompromising music that is just as composed as it is chaotic-sounding. They have released over a dozen full length recordings and have collaborated with artists such as Thurston Moore, Chan Marshall, Azalia Snail, Brendan Bell, and Jeff Fuccillo.

i really like the self-titled too. not a single weak song, even the interludes are neat. miss spaceship -> equatorial antarctica is one of the strongest runs of songs around.

All their stuff is worth a listen. But i'd say Godspeed the Punchline is the next best album.
