About This Track

Kirisute Gomen is the first of the three releases from Trivium’s album Shogun. It was made available as a free digital download through the Roadrunner Records website for 24 hours on July 31, 2008 (2008-07-31).

The phrase “Kirisute Gomen” is of Japanese origin. It means, roughly, “I apologize in advance for striking you down” and was often said by samurai before they made their kill.

The opening part in the song is played by acoustic guitars, the chord progression in the song is very similar to a vocal line in the song “Shogun”
