I love the Colin Richardson production, but I don't like the music. I haven't heard Ember but otherwise this is my least favorite Trivium album. I only like about 1/3 of the songs here. The title track is great!

My favourite Trivium album and one of those albums that helped form a lot of my current taste in metal and music more generally. Shogun and Ascendency are both great albums, but for me this is the album that blended the best of both of those albums.

Shogun is way better than this shit.

Shogun > In Waves > Ascendancy > Vengeance Falls > The Crusade > Ember To Inferno

The Crusade has cringeable vocals, and Shogun is just boring and thrashless. In Waves picks up the thrash influence pace, returning to form with Ascendancy and Embers. I don't like it better than Ascendancy, but definitely a kick ass album. Honestly its the only Trivium album since Ascendancy that I like. I love the production too.

Soo boring album, maybe 2-3 good songs. IMO thrash>>>>>>>metalcore Trivium, no doubt.

Yea, I don't think it is great or even that good, but it's very consistent album.
