This isn't the version of Outside from the Abort album - less polished and with a somewhat distracting guitar solo, and missing the fantastic closing theme. I should know, I wore out the CD in grad school. This is probably a live track if not the version from Rock Band? (I wouldn't know). I feel sorry for those who had to wait 15 years for Rock Band before discovering the genius of this music.

I won the Tribe EP from WBCN call-in contest in '87/88. I've been a fan ever since. Gorgeous timeless music, including this song.

I used to go see Tribe every time they played here. Probably saw them 8 or 9 times. I wonder if I'm the only one who knew the song before Rock Band.

It's a great song. After hearing it for the first time (in Rock Band, of course) I was surprised to find that Tribe wasn't a way bigger band than it is. I just came across mp3s of their debut album, Here at the Home... it seems to be an early version of Abort. Worth checking out if you haven't already: http://www.stevelathamdesign.com/tribe/studio.htm

Maybe the best song on Abort? Joyride is a close second. I'm just thankful they made it popular on Rock Band, thanks to their involvement in that product. Damn shame they only lasted two albums.
