Triarii is a German martial industrial act. They combine martial industrial with neo-classical and even neo-military pop.
The name of the group comes from Latin: The Triarii (Latin singular: triarius) was the third standard line of infantry of the Roman Republic’s army. Its name is related to the Latin word tres (“three”), ultimately derived from Proto-Indo-European *trei-. When suffering defeat, the first and second lines, the Hastati and Principes, fell back on the Triarii to attempt to reform the line and allow for a counter attack or withdrawal of the other lines. Because falling back on the Triarii was an act of desperation, to mention “falling on the Triarii” (“ad triarios rediisse”) became a common Roman phrase indicating one to be in a desperate situation. To be the officer of the triarii was an honor. It made the individual one of the best men in the legion.

Those who are complaining around may remain in their bitter disappointment; the new release is anyway brilliant. If the artist had changed the traditional sound of his project, others would definitely say that nothing could be comparable to the previous works. Now, when he keeps to his style, this unique sound of Triarii which can't be confused with anything else, pardon - is it repeating?

Exile was disappointing at first listen for me, it left me with the impression that he had begun to repeat himself too much. Still from that point it was my favorite Triarii after MIA. Now after a few more spins it's growing hard. Has me getting all creamy about a new full-length and new TriORE. Also, unlike MIA I prefer the instrumental tracks on this, they stand very well on their own and are by no means interludes. And Solemn Vigil might become my new favorite Triarii song.
