Triangle Exception is composed of the duo of Doug Darrell and Steve Wonchoba. Their musical style often resists categorization, as it morphs from one genre to another, incorporating elements of jazz, pop, classic prog rock, and just plain experimentation.

Currently, Darrell lives in Landenberg, PA; and Wonchoba lives in Minneapolis, MN.

Darrell and Wonchoba were both born in Northern New Castle County, DE, at the dawn of the ‘70’s. They first met at the Governor’s School for Excellence in 1985, and crossed paths again later at the University of Delaware.

But it wasn’t until their reconnection in the Fall of 2006 through email that they started discussing and sharing their past musical exploits. And in February of ‘07, although rusty after long hiatuses, and just starting to learn the ins and outs of using digital audio workstations, they decided to take part in the RPM Challenge.

This annual event challenges participants to create from scratch a complete album in the month of February. Through their collaboration, all through email and a couple of phone calls, they produced what would become about 30 minutes worth of their debut independent release, ‘Cheesesteak Walleye’.

So after some polishing and a few more tunes, ‘Cheesteak Walleye’ was release August 2007.

In October of that year they followed up with an EP, ‘Echo Papa Zero One’. It features two songs that the duo felt couldn’t wait for a full album - the post-grunge satire ‘Fetid Felicity’, and the quirky would-be Powerball theme, ‘Ball’. In order to get them into the digital marketplace, they blasted out the 5-song collection in October ‘07.
