A refreshingly innovative cutting edge Power-Pop sound from this quirky diminutive London-based artist.

Treija is an alternative indie rock/pop musician, songwriter and producer from London, United Kingdom, A product of the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology, Treija (pronounced ‘Tray-Yaaa’) initially was involved in the 1995 Eurovision song entry ‘Love City Groove’ which reached number 17 in the UK Charts.

Featured on E4’s School of Music, this London-based artist is already creating waves on the independent London music scene, and particularly on that fascist dominion known as Myspace topping over 5 millions views, 20,000 friends and regularly reaching thousand’s of songplays per day.

A talented producer, guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter, Treija has caught the attention of a number of celebrities and established artists. Treija describes his sound as ‘post-modern power-pop with a f*cked-up Vodka-kick’.

His first 2008 album release entitled ‘La La Land’ introduced the world to Treija’s dynamic and quirky songwriting style. This solo release, became a cult download phenomenon, selling in the thousands with no major promotion, which quickly attracted the attention of major record labels

Originally, a songwriter/composer for the 1995 Eurovision song entry ‘Love City Groove’, which charted at 17 in the UK Charts Treija is in the process of establishing himself as a creative songwriter with a pending publishing deal.

More recently the storming retro-disco track ‘PR Superstar’ has been played on BBC Radio-1’s Huw Stephens slot, and featured in a French TV company teaser-ident, whilst the raucous, powerpop ‘Emo’s Dead’ has been selected by Xfm 1049.9 DJ John Kennedy who described it as ‘Stunning’

The diversity of Treija’s musical influences are apparent in his song-writing. Sometimes synth-driven, most times heavily guitar-driven, Treija easily feels at home with songs with a ska-rock style with tracks like ‘Caterpillar Chic’, as he does in writing songs in a completely unfashionable genre and giving them a contemporary modern edge - such as the lovable country-tinged track ‘Friday;.

Despite being diverse, Treija manages to retain a polished-edge and commercial appeal. A profound stint on the live circuit has cemented his strong Myspace following - seeing this guy play live does add an extra dimension.

Whist an increasingly promising recording act, Treija can also kick it live, and often captivates audiences by stripping down his sound and playing live acoustic versions of his songs - another testament to his talent and versatility.Treija manages to retain an urban-chic and cool, whilst creating accessible, and extremely catchy quirky commercial pop songs… Definitely one to watch…
