Trails of Anguish was a Black Metal band from Montreal, Canada formed in 2000. Their lyrics dealt mostly with depression, misery, hate, and emptiness, which is why they are considered a “Suicidal” or “Depressive” black metal band. The band released two EPs in 2001 and 2003 before disbanding.

    Underrated band.

When I was in worse than bad shape (2006), I discovered this band throught metal-archives. The insane riffing & even more mad vocals really pulled me through the worst shape I've ever been in. I feel bad about you guys quiting, but I know such decisions can be for the best. For providing the soundtrack of me craweling out of the thick mud into the world, while choking on my failing heart, I thank you! The energy within your 7 tracks have been the world to me! The beats and screams went through me like fucking IV or something. GO! GO! F*CKING GO ALREADY! :) Thank you both!

Much more complex than most other music classed as depressive black metal. The apparent punk influence is also a bit odd! It all works towards a powerful end result, however.
