Biography

London, England (2007 – present)

Toxins formed in late 2007 by Ky Wilkinson on guitar and lead vocals and Sean Cleaver on bass and vocals. A self proclaimed grunge/punk-inspired band, it was formed in London, England where the boys lived. Their goal was to reflect ‘disenchanted youth’. They recruited Sean’s former band-mate Joe “Oxfez” Passi to be the drummer and then set about a long journey playing every dive that would host them. This exercise in mental endurance culminated in 2 6-track EP’s ‘Beautiful Democracy’ (2008) and ‘2many Humans’ (2009) which were later both released on iTunes as mp3 downloads, and as CDs that were given away at gigs.

Following a headline slot at an Amnesty UK benefit gig in December 2010, Sean quit the band and Toxins swiftly got new bassist Dill Tasker (then ‘Damian’), a friend and former collaborater of of Ky’s, for Christmas. Gigs and small festival slots ensued the following year with new material when, eventually, a new EP named ‘Disaffector’ was recorded at Unsigned Studios by Shane Shanahan in August 2012, and released on 17th Febraury 2013, where it is now available on limited CD or free download (for any price fans choose) on their bandcamp page.Toxins entered the studio in April 2013 and they have begun to record more tracks.
