Biography

There is more than one artist with this name:
1. An alternative rock band from Delaware, United States
2. A punk band from Pennsylvania, United States
3. A rock band from Oregon, United States

1) Towers was formed in 1983 when Ben Schorr fell off a bridge and subsequently spent six months in physical therapy. His recovery trainer was a gypsy named John Lertch who taught him how to play the ukulele. Shortly thereafter, Lertch’s millionaire uncle, D. Thomas Kaplan, died, willing to John his entire fortune under the condition that he release a platinum album by his twenty-seventh birthday. Lertch wasted no time in assembling his ukulele prodigy, along with stage magicians Craig Woods and Greg Fowler, to form Towers.

Now with four platinum albums under its collective belt, Towers is at the forefront of the alt-salsa movement and John Lertch is the wealthiest man in Delaware.

2)Towers formed in late 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are harshly DIY and are constantly on tour. Recently, their driver that they met in Germany on their European tour got arrested for attempting to steal a can of beans for burritos. This halted Tower’s tour for about 4 days.

“The debut album from Philadelphia’s TOWERS is a mid paced abrasive psychedelic nightmare as demonstrated through sonic fury. While one could claim that they draw influences from band names like GASP, DEADGUY, PG.99 and OLD MAN GLOOM / older ISIS, the band’s real influences come from themselves and a DIY punk-as-fuck mindset in general. They strive to write songs, put out records, go on tours, and repeat a seemingly never ending cycle. This is the true influence on the existence of the band”
