A masterpiece. I would say equal to choirgirl, but then... Ah fuck it. It's equal to choirgirl.

"I worry increasingly that To Venus and Back will be forgotten as time marches on..." nahh, don't worry, it's reputation will only grow in time. I can see this in 50 years being mentioned as one of the most important - if not THE most - of her career :) Anyways, I'm glad I finally discovered this, even if this late in the game. Beats the shit out of the last ones, but that should go without saying. :x

same message i left here: in my opinion the correct album tag: To Venus And Back (Venus Orbiting) and To Venus And Back (Venus Live: Still Orbiting). But I guess that when MusicBrainz has sorted things out a bit (the Venus and Back entry is wrong and there's no entry for the 2nd disc), it would be officially To Venus And Back (Disc 1: Venus Orbiting) and To Venus and Back (Disc 2: Venus Live: Still Orbiting). But I like to leave the disc 1/disc 2 away if it ain't necessary. Anyway, this page should not exist cuz its wrong. See the album covers at Discogs (one of the reasons i always check that site)

This and Boys For Pele take pride of place as the two Tori albums with the most emotional impact on me. Under The Pink and Scarlet’s Walk come a close second, but… wow.

I agree with you. To Venus and Back is such a fine work. I don't understand why many people don't pay much attention to it. To me, it is an experimental album, but it is very Tori in its own way. It may sound a little bit electronic, but it definetively has Tori's passion and beauty.

I worry increasingly that To Venus and Back will be forgotten as time marches on, 'cause it's a double disc and it didn't catch much attention in '99. But it has some of her strongest material. Bliss, Concertina, Suede, Spring Haze . . . definently one of my Top 3 Tori Amos albums.
