@anino, Not knowing "Enjoy The Silence" before SLG is indeed shameful, and saying that Tori's version is better should be punishable, the original is just a flawless masterpiece.
But with that said, her versions are still amazing. Great interpretations!
I recently started to really adore this album. Some freaking brilliant interpretations here and Tori in her best vocal form. Totally brilliant record, I'm only sad that I got into it after such a long time...Some of the tracks here will always remind me of very special phase in my life. The combination of Rattlesnakes and Time always tears my heart out.
I don`t listen this album, cause no one song was written by Tori. It`s not an album at all, it`s just compilation of covers :((((((........... I will tell u more - I just deleted SLG from my hard disc((((
I think it's odd that when I first got into Tori, I listened to this album and The Beekeeper, two of her most hated albums. However, I didn't know that at the time, and I instantly fell in love with those two. This album holds a special place in my heart for that reason. It's sad that she doesn't perform anything from this album anymore, when she plays Cornflake Girl for the billionth time.
An incredible album. Play this on a audiophilic system and everything just shines. Perfect perfect perfect, Tori in top vocal form, she has never sounded better than *this* :) Pristine production, the bosey in top shape and form. Phenomenal. And the *tour*!!!!!
Really really nice reinterpretations. An album entirely made of covers is sometimes hard to digest (as mentioned below), but this one really works for me. More than PinUps (Bowie), Hit List (Joan Jett), and RocknRoll (Lennon).
It's strange (fittingly). I loved it as an album when I frist got it, but they're so diverse and different (each track) that it's hard to listen to, though I love every song it.
New Age and Rattlesnakes are some of my favourite Tori songs ever.
