After playing in various bands around Toronto in the late '50s, Tommy Graham moved to Los Angeles in 1960, but returned three years later to join the Big Town Boys. The band split up in 1965, so Graham decided to journey around the world; while in India, he met and studied under Ravi Shankar's sarode player, Ali Akbar Khan.
