Biography

There are at least two bands by the name Tombstones. See also: The Tombstones.

1) A / band from Oslo, Norway.
2) A band from the US.

1) Tombstones consist of three men from the darkest of woods in eastern Norway. Based in Oslo, music has been played since 2006. Their new album, Year of the Burial, redefines their formula of down-tuned heaviness. Their doom is darker, filthier, heavier and more consistent. The sinister approach of Year of the Burial sends shivers of cold down your spine, and takes you back to the evil priests of ancient times.

The sound of Tombstones is rich, warm and dynamic, with a low end destined to crush all things crossing its path. Year of the Burial was recorded live in winter-cold Oslo, behind the gates of Caliban Studios. With it’s lack of dead-compressed sounds, the production provided by Petter Svee, Audun Strype, and Tombstones makes you feel present during the actual recording and has a life of its own. Light your candles and feel the darkness.

Volume I (self-released demo) reached the light of dawn in 2009.
Volume II was released November 2010 on Transubstans Records. Both albums were mixed by Billy Anderson.
Year of the Burial came out on SoulSeller Records in 2012.

2) TOMBSTONES is the new band from Stevo of the infamous horror/gore legends Impetigo; it is an homage to the classic horror comics and artwork from the ’50s, ’60s, and early ’70s, such as Tales From The Crypt, Creepy, Terror Tales, Chamber of Chills, etc. Musically, Stevo and the band decided that was the only way to go, taking inspiration from bands such as Death, Master, Sacrifice, Deceased, Slaughter, and others.

The interludes sound fun, sounds like an exaggerated parody of MegaDave.

Thanks for listening everyone! I knew the intros weren't for everybody, that's why I put them on separate tracks so they can easily be skipped/removed from a playlist. I myself have the album on my MP3 player without the intros. Cheers!

Stevo's vocal performance is great on this album - especially since it's his first performance on an album (aside from a few guest performances) in over fifteen years (I think) and it was recorded on a cheap microphone straight into a computer. The riffs are good, not as brutal, catchy or evil as Impetigo but still good. A fun record!

Yeah, I could do without those cheesy, "Cryptkeeper" type interludes. You're breaking the fourth wall!!! Other than that, standard Razorback fare. Fun, but they've put out better stuff.

i'd have really wished none of those pointless intros/interludes existed . The only thing that negates my immense liking of this album .
