This sounds great to me captaindanny ..there is to much snobbery in music these days by people criticising good music...

One of the best oboe concertos but one of the worst performances of it i've heard. It's simply too slow. It does occasionally feel stately but most of the time is just dull and wants a hurry-up. If it's going to be played at that tempo it needs a great deal more decoration. In fact, with the exception of the ending, it had less decoration than you hear in many considerably faster interpretations. The timbre isn't great either - if you're going to use a modern oboe in a baroque performance you should at least use a reed that provides as pleasing tone. It doesn't sound dreadful, but it is quite a weedy sound - which isn't very in-keeping with the piece.

Of all the oboe solos I learned in high school, this was perhaps my favorite.
