listens to Tom Moriarty a lot

Tom picked up a guitar when he was about yay high. (Imagine placing your hand at about waist height.) He developed an affinity with the beautiful stringed box and from that moment on, performed with it throughout his school days and adventures around Europe and California.

Along the journey, a fountain pen and leather-bound notebook was always at his side, scrawling lines and lyrics whenever the moment took him. Inspired by artists like Dylan and Waits he soon developed a natural feel for crafting a song or two.

It wasn’t long before he settled in London. Since then, all the usual joints have lifted their lights on Tom offering up his vocals, rich and smokey like LaMontagne, and his musical tales, often compared with John Martyn.

In 2009, he scored a support slot for The Beautiful South. Then, Ian Grimble, producer to Mumford & Sons and KT Tunstall noticed that there was something special about Tom and in early 2010 they paid a visit to the historic Abbey Road to record ‘Fire In The Doll’s House’.
